The question of feasibility of underfloor heating for a timber-beamed ceiling can be unequivocally answered with “Yes”. The heating elements are placed in position on the floor and the surrounding space is backfilled with concrete. Depending on the impact sound reduction requirements, underfloor heating may also be installed as part of the screed of the timber-beamed ceiling. If it is necessary to decouple the impact sound, we can offer you solutions which involve an additional build of just 15 mm on the ceiling which will serve both as a further levelling and decoupling layer. Where sufficient structural height is available for a conventional wet screed, the installation of an underfloor heating of the type typically used in new buildings can be provided for. And if you like tiles (usually in the bathroom, the kitchen, or the toilet, these can also be accommodated without problems.
