TCC Norms
In addition to EC 5 »Design and construction of timber structures«, the HBV shall be standardised. In preparation for this, several research institutions in Europe are currently working on a technical specification.

Restoring the correct level of a sagging ceiling in the TCC system.
Over the years, old timber-beam ceilings have often undergone gradual »creep« and »shrinkage« – the timber beams are sagging in the middle, or the entire timber supporting system is now skew at room level. The use of the Timber-Concrete Composite system (TCC) makes it possible to ensure long-term reversal of this deformation. If there is major deformation, it is essential that the supports of the timber beams at their end are checked, as it is essential to prevent any lifting of the beams off their supports. As a rule, the deformation is reversed by bracing. The Timber-Concrete Composite (TCC) ensures that the repositioned floor remains in the restored position durably.
Elascoloft is the remedy when there are significant level differences.
For timber-beamed ceiling which are skew or sagging too much at the centre, Elascon can offer patented re levelling system as the solution: The use of liquid ElascoLoft® Insulation not only reliably corrects the level but also provides for very significant footfall sound insulation. Elascoloft is a fully approved building product that conforms to the DIBt. In January 2019, Elascoloft 250R was awarded the full general certificate of approval as a recognised building product under No. Z-23.11-2097.
