In addition to EC 5 »Design and construction of timber structures«, the HBV shall be standardised. In preparation for this, several research institutions in Europe are currently working on a technical specification.

We will provide the object-specific and protection-related evidence necessary in support of your planning objectives. For us, the economics of these procedure are most important. Where appropriate, we work out allowable variations and negotiate easements in terms of fire protection subject to any necessary compensatory measures.
When we deal with existing building structures, we will always perform structural weakness analyses which are then used as the basis for further action. Whenever required, we apply engineering know how in our investigations, e.g. component sizing calculations, calculations for the assessment of fire risks, and simulations associated with the fire risks and the risk of smoke escape. We will establish the technical fire prevention needs and the scale of these and verify their compliance with normal safety standards. If requested, we will also assist with the preparation of details of escape routes, rescue provisions, and appropriate fire service access routes as required. During any construction work we shall be happy to work in an advisory capacity.
