The elevation plan constitutes the basis for perfect levelling of the screed.

In order to determine the level differences, the timber beams are accurately measured (there are three reference points). Various methods may be used for this purpose. 3D-determination with laser scanners is state of the art. The method rapidly provides a complex image of the supporting structure with all dimensional information. The use of digital Laser levelling devices has been trialled for years, but the method still requires manual data recording, and the use of a digital so-called “hose scale”. However, it offers the advantage that it provides a reliable result, even if there are visual obstacles.

The data are added to the elevation plan; like the beam layout plan, the elevation plan should be digital and on the same scale.
