TCC Norms
In addition to EC 5 »Design and construction of timber structures«, the HBV shall be standardised. In preparation for this, several research institutions in Europe are currently working on a technical specification.

Using the TCC system to meet building standards: We know how it works
The DIN 4102 Standard recognizes flammability classes F30, F60, F90, F120, and basically distinguishes between A (non-inflammable) and B (flammable). These classifications mean that the supporting structure must withstand the effects of fire for at least 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes.
Basically, a Timber/Concrete composite belongs into flammability class B (flammable); this is because of the wood content of the structure. Escape routes such as staircases, etc. must normally built to comply with flammability class A. The higher the number of floors of a building, the more stringent the fire protection requirements. If no exemption is granted (rules for the preservation of existing buildings), loft extensions in multi-storey-buildings - especially above building class 4, must be implemented as F90B structures.
